Busy Girl!

She's a busy girl these days... always wanting to be entertained! I don't mind it one bit because the more we play, the better she sleeps. Saturday, we had a very relaxing, low-key day... I believe I stayed in my pj's all day long! So nice! Emery is starting to feel better, but still has her cough... and, I'm thinking her teeth may be irritating her too. She's definitely had her "mommy moments" this weekend... where nothing will make her happy except for me holding her and about 10 seconds after I pick her up she has a HUGE smile on her face. She's thinking... Gotcha mom!

So, I'm a little behind with this post... What a great birthday weekend! I picked up Alli at BWI last Thursday evening and on our way home I took the wrong exit on 495... I think I was on 495, I really have no clue about driving up here... Imagine that! It couldn't have been from us chatting each other's ear off and not paying attention to the GPS! Anyways, we ended up driving past the exit for Old Town Alexandria. Lucky us, we quickly made a u-turn and had dinner at the Fish Market. Their spiced shrimp is my favorite! Spiced shrimp & girl chat, perfect way to start my Birthday weekend! Friday, Emery went to daycare with Ms. Shirley and we went wine tasting with Laura & Gina... Oh my goodness, we had a BLAST!!! We had tasting at Marterella, Barrel Oak, and La Grange. Barrel Oak Winery was by far the best! On Saturday, we needed some rest & relaxation... as Ross prepped the house for my birthday party with the VA crew... he was the best host for Alli & I for the weekend! As everyone was arriving and we were getting ready to party, Emery woke up and was not feeling well... it was a rough night! I knew something was wrong as she never wakes once she is put down for the night. She officially has her first cold with a terrible cough. Too bad Sunday came way too fast and it was already time for Alli to go home... Thank you so much for coming to visit! And, helping me celebrate #29! As for Emery, she's getting better... we've had to resort to her swing some nights as she is too congested and continues to wake herself up. She has clearly spoiled me by her great sleeping habits... wasn't sure I was going to survive the first part of this past week. Hopefully she can shake this cold soon!!!

She is so funny! She'll roll over on her tummy and all of a sudden she'll have both arms and legs as straight as can be like she's flying... she'll wait a couple of seconds and relax and then do it all over again. Tonight, Ross raised her up in the air... Superman!

We had dinner with the Birthday Boy at Sweetwater this weekend and Emery just wasn't herself. It was probably Mommy's fault as it is very hard to keep her on her schedule during the weekends. She had fallen asleep driving to the restaurant and as Ross sat her carseat next to me... she woke-up and began to cry. Needless to say, she was not her Happy-Go-Lucky self... If anyone looked at her or spoke to her, she would just start crying... poor thing, I know she was exhausted. After her 2-hr nap while we ate, she was ready to socialize!

Wow, it's amazing how our weekends fly-by so fast! I'm always wishing tomorrow is Friday and when Friday gets here I'm ready to stop time. We had a nice, relaxing weekend! Like always, Emery kept us very busy!

Months pass and I go into Once Upon a Child and guess what I find... the Taggies onesie for no more than $5. Gotta love it when you find a bargain and it's still in great condition!

Ross & Emery sleeping while we're waiting for our delayed 8:45pm flight ... we ended up leaving TX around 11pm and finally arrived at our house at 4am. It was a looooonnng trip, but worth it!!! We're glad everyone had a great time at the tournament... See you next year! And, we wish our time was not so rushed with our family & friends... time is precious and we cherish every minute! Come visit us soon!

Happy 4-month Birthday! I know I'm a bit late... But, it's better late than never, right? It was hillarious taking pictures with the birthday hat... she would giggle & have a BIG smile as the hat would fall off!

Look Mom, I've found my toes! Diaper-time is a bit more challenging now that she can grab her feet and hang on whenever she wants... gotta play the "Let go of the toes!" game!

Seriously, time is flying-by! She loves to coo when you're talking to her... And, her interjections just make me want to laugh. Sometimes it's like we're having a real conversation... I love it! She's getting really good at rolling over... it's almost impossible to keep her on her back. I can't believe it... she'll be 5-months old 11 days.
